The design of No.20 is inspired by the old “bulls-eye” lamps.

Industrial lamps made of cast iron with a cage to protect the glass.

No.20 is a modern version of this lamp. Instead of iron, the hood is made of biodegradable PLA and the cage is made of FSC approved MDF. This, in combination with the carbon filament lamp, stainless steel bolts and black fabric cord, creates a beautiful contrast between old and new / industrial and homely.

Much attention has been paid to the way the light spreads through the wooden cage and the white shade. When the room gets dark, the light shines through it beautifully. The effect is like a sunset.

The white hood of the No.20 is 3D printed by us. The brave little printer takes 8 hours to produce just one lamp! The wood is cut by a laser (which is much faster).

Due to the 3D printing technique, different wall thicknesses can be included in the hood. The lower part has a thick wall that prevents the light from shining through, while the upper part is thinner towards the top to create the sunset effect. The pattern that is visible is the internal structure created by the printer to reinforce the hood.

No.20 is designed in such a way that no glue has to be used when assembling the lamp.
